Sandakan is the second largest city in Sabah, after its capital city, Kota Kinabalu located on the northern east-coast of Sabah, Malaysia Borneo. It is facing the famous Sandakan Bay and is one of Malaysia's port town.

This town has a beautiful tropical rainforst climate which is relatively hot and wet year-round with an average temperature of 32 °C during the day with April recorded as the driest month, and October - February as the wettest months, similar to most of the towns and cities throughout Sabah.

World renown for its wildlife conservation efforts and eco-tourism, Borneon Sun Bear Conservation Centre, Sepilok Orang Utan Rehabilitation Sanctuary, Rainforest Discovery Centre (RDC) and the Labuk Bay Proboscis Monkeys Centre are among the few wildlife attractions.
